The DS series was developed as an alternative to the slotted pin. In contrast to slotted pins, the anchors of the DS series have no reduced cross section in the refractory retaining area and therefore have greater retaining properties. One of four different basic types can be selected, depending on the application:
Type DSV is pre-opened, is fastened by stud welding and is suitable for single layer refractory linings. Type DSVH is similar to type DSV, but intended for hand welding. Type DSS is bent open after welding on by stud welding and application of an insulating layer to anchor the refractory material in place. Type DSSH is the hand welding version of type DSS.
